We Won't Leave You Hanging Out to Dry

When talking to prospective clients, we hear a similar story repeated too many times: the client has been working with someone else but nothing appears to be happening. Money has changed hands, but the work has not been completed and the client doesn't know what is going on.

Our philosophy of work

A Client Comment...

"I so appreciate my website-- and when I can update things all by myself I love it and give thanks for your ingenuity every time.... You've been instrumental in giving me a key marketing piece that I feel very proud of."

The Mindful Way

At Mystical Bear Designs, we don't operate that way. We work closely with you throughout the life cycle of your project and you know exactly what is going on and where things stand.

At the start of every project, we begin with a detailed interview with the appropriate members of your organization to define the scope and goals of the project. The information gleaned from this becomes a detailed design document that spells everything out - who is reponsible for what, what is involved, time frames, etc. When that is approved, we go to work on development.

Communication doesn't stop there though. For web sites, we give you temporary links where you can see the progress of your site as its being worked on. We are in regular contact with you via phone or email letting you know what's going on. Finally, after each has been thorougly tested, we let you know when milestones have been completed to get your approval. When everything is completed, we go live. Simple as that.

Our design philosophy

When creating our designs, we take many things into account. We strive to create sites that are easy to use, clear, easily navagable, and great to look at. This is sometimes difficult but the effort is worth it. With so much competition on the web, people will simply move on to another site if they can't find what they're looking for on yours.

Again, that's where careful planning comes into play. In the initial interview stage, we focus on who you're aiming to reach and what those people are looking for when they pull your site up in their browsers. Different audience groups have different needs and we strive to come up with a design and navigation scheme that takes everyone into account.

We also know our place in the scheme of things. Even though we take tremendous pride in our work, we also know who is working for whom. We will use our expertise to guide you along the way, but you have the final say. If you're not happy, we aren't either.

About deadlines

We take seriously the needs of our clients when setting deadlines. At the same time, we won't promise anything that we can't complete. Sure, unexpected things have a habit of arising time to time, but you will always know the status of your project and we will do everything in our power to complete things when we say we will.

We only ask that everyone takes responsibility for what is their's. Part of the communication process is letting you know what is needed on your end and finding out when it will be available. If things such as content or images aren't provided in a timely manner, timeframes will be delayed. Same with changes to goals, functionality or the design after the initial document has been approved - we will work closely with you to get things back on track, but any changes after the process has started will usually cause delays.
